National Gandhi Day of Service (NGDOS) is an annual service day in honor of one of the world's greatest humanitarians M.K. Gandhi. Every year thousands of people around the country will honor Mohandas Gandhi's memory, on the anniversary of his birth, by performing volunteer services in their local communities. They clean up parks, build homes for the homeless, visit with the elderly, and perform countless other acts to contribute back to the local community.

At Penn State we participate in the event by holding a Food Drive on campus for 1 week.
The food is collected and donated to the local State College Food Bank. Also on Oct 2nd (or around that depending on the feasibility) we have a program in the evening held at the Hub Heritage Hall which include

1) Screening of a movie
2) Plays
3) Interfaith Readings from Holy Books etc.
