Every year on Independence Day AID volunteers gather in front of Old Main for a vigil & recital of National Anthem. On the same day we also take a Pledge to contribute to our nation by way of money, service, or any way we can.

This year we will gather in front of Old Main on 15th Aug, 2011, Monday evening. After the recital of National Anthem we will head off to Schlow library for screening of a small inspirational documentary and a quiz show. Details will follow.

Time: Aug 15, 2011, 5.30pm to 8pm
Venue: Old Main Lawn and Schlow Library

This year, we have a new painting competition for kids. The themes are as follows

• Category : Topic
• Under 10 : When I think of India...
• Under 18 : What does freedom mean to me

• Submissions should be made on white paper no bigger than 42cm x 29cm (17" x 11")
• Each entry should have the name, age, address, contact number and email id of the participant at the back.
• Entries are due by 5pm on Sunday, August 14, 2011
• Selected paintings will be on display at the Schlow library from Aug 15 to Aug 20, 2011
