Sikorsky Presentation on The X2 Technology Demonstrator
At the first meeting of the 2005-2006 year (flyer here), Matt Tarascio, a design engineer at Sikorsky, gave a presentation on Sikorsky's new X2 program. His presentation covered the history of the Advancing Blade Concept from its initial patent in the 1950s, to the XH-59A program in the 1970s. He then presented the new techologies which enable the X2 program to overcome the limitations experienced by the XH-59A, including active vibration control, composite fuselage construction, and Fully Automatic Digital Engine Control (FADEC).
