Welcome to the Donald W. Davis Penn State Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. The Donald W. Davis Advertising Federation is an important complement to the Penn State advertising program. By providing students with the opportunity to meet and interact with advertising professionals, the Advertising Club allows students to gain the necessary skills needed to earn internships, achieve career placement, and become more engaged in the advertising profession. The club is not only a student organization; it is a key to future success.

STATE OF THE CLUB ADDRESS
2007-2008

If you were a member last year, welcome back-- we’re so glad you’re here! If you are just joining AdClub, welcome! You picked a GREAT year to join! We have an excellent year of fun filled and informational events planned!

For those of you who don’t know, last year’s AAF team represented very well in the district competition in New York City, coming in 6^th place out of 12 schools with our “Coke Side of Life” campaign. This year’s competition promises to be even more interesting, with AOL being the client. The AAF Nittany Group Competition Team will be forming soon, so pay attention for more information on that topic.

The executive board would like to take this opportunity to wish all seniors a great deal of luck in their job searches! As you all begin to secure jobs, please keep in touch and let us know where you end up so we can keep a list of what alumnae are working where!

And, as for our schedule for the upcoming school year—everyone should be very excited! Please mark your schedules and know that the vast majority of AdClub events will be on Monday evenings at 7pm —so keep that night open! The only exception is our Welcome Back Social, which will be on a Tuesday night due to the Labor Day holiday. There is also one special Friday afternoon event and two field trips planned! One will be to Washington DC for an AAF conference, and the other will be to visit several major advertising agencies in the Pittsburgh area. We also are planning a holiday semiformal social before break!

So everyone get excited, and be sure to attend our Welcome Back Social on Tuesday, September 4^th @ 7pm in room 113 Carnegie to learn about all the exciting ad professionals we’ll be bringing to campus.  It really is going to be a great year!
