- Georgia Supreme Court - Sex offender registry "not only applied to sex offenders"
- ACLU PA: filed lawsuit in March 2009 against Wyoming County DA w/ threatening (girls topless or in underwear in photos) DA demand that 3 girls placed on probation, 5 wks re-education
- Photos found on school district officials (4th amendment violation), issue in case, neither depict sexual activity, DA: accomplices to child pornography, allowed themselves to be photographed, not charging distributors of photos.
Lower Meriod school laptops
- ACLU PA: Support Lower Merion HS Student, school issued laptop of taking photos of student at home without his knowledge, did something 'illegal' and was arrested
Philadelphia airport
- ACLU PA: Lawsuit, Pomona College student, detained for 5 hrs, set of English-Arabic flashcards in connection with his language studies, how he thought about 9/11, what languages
ACLU State Updates
- CA - Censor school presentation on Harvey Milk - wrote paper, called to office told she couldn’t do so, citing policy on sex education, restrict freedom of speech
- AL - Prom problems. 17 yr old will go to prom, on committee, raised $200+, asked to bring GF, threatened to cancel the entire prom, students’ 1st amendment rights
- LA - Interracial marriage denial - refused to issue marriage license to interracial couples, claims to not be racist, “concern” for children
- TN - Lawsuit, history teacher lectures that US is Christian nation, no separation of church & state
- VA - Prayer & Protest: Sectarian prayer read at football game is unconstitutional, principal to honor free speech rights, not oppose religious views on anyone
