In September 1990,
thirteen lovely ladies
became
the founding mothers
of
La Hermandad
de
Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc.
Then in the Spring of 1992 came
The Elegant Eta Chapter
of
Penn State University
 
 

Penn State University is the home of the Eta chapter of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc.. The
chapter was originally founded by Marjorie Colon. Marjorie joined Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc., which is the first and only Latina Greek organization at Penn State, in 1992.  Since then the chapter has been steadily growing.

The Eta chapter strives to create awareness of the Latino culture in the Penn State community and to
promote sisterhood among women of all colors.
