The Student Activity Server has been renamed to the Penn State Student Organizations Web Service and is under new management. These Web pages may be out of date and will be moved to the new site in the near future. Please read http://www.clubs.psu.edu/info/ for information about the new service.
Creating a new site, removes all old pages if any.
Updating an existing site, use this if your club already has content on its site. Work with existing pages, add or remove any pages if you want.
Q: "Why do I get 'An unknown WinINet error has occurred' when I try to publish from FrontPage?"
A: On June 1, 2002, the FTP service on ftp.clubs.psu.edu was terminated. Please read how to upload now using Secure FTP, or other alternatives.
Q: "Why is the 'Publish Web...' option on the 'File' menu grayed out?"
A: We are sorry, but you can no longer use the Publish feature of FrontPage to upload to the club server. Please read about our other options, such as Secure FTP.
Old A: If you were going to upload to a server that did support FTP or FrontPage extentions, you would need to create a web project, or "Web" as FrontPage calls it. FrontPage will not allow you to upload pages outside of a web project. However, if you were to use Secure FTP, you wouldn't need to create a Web.
Q: "FrontPage tells me that FrontPage Extensions are not enabled on your server. Can they be?"
A: FrontPage Extentions conflict with our security model, and we aren't planning on implementing them in the foreseeable future. You will not be able to upload over the http protocol or use any features that require these extentions. However there are other programs that can provide the same features as most of ones that use FrontPage Extentions. See our CGI information page.
