The National Organization will award five (5) $5000 scholarships to full-time graduate students, thirty-three (33) $3,000 scholarships for full-time undergraduate students, and fifty plus (50+) $1,000 scholarships in the form
of undergraduate awards. The next national scholarship will be offered in Spring 2009

Phi Eta Sigma's local chapter currently offers four members scholarship of a value of $1,250 for their excellence in academic and philanthropic work at Penn State. The criteria for the scholarship evaluation is as follows:
+ GPA (3.3 or higher)
+ Official Transcript
+ Phi Eta Sigma Involvement
+ Personal Statement Essays (see application)
+ Letter of Recommendation
A point value is awarded to each so that each of the criteria are rated equally. The better the rating of the individual criteria (ex. a 4.0 GPA instead of a 3.6), the higher the point value awarded. The due date for this local scholarship is April 18, 2008, and applications should be dropped off at the Phi Eta Sigma desk in the HUB. Please see

All Phi Eta Sigma members inducted prior to March 17, 2008 are encouraged to
apply no matter their class ranking. Seniors planning to attend graduate school
are welcome to apply.
