Opportunities

The Penn State Model Railroad Club is open for membership. We constantly have need for people with talents (and curiosity to learn) in areas such as: Although Model Railroading is a lot of fun, it is also educational. The club has hosted sessions for School of Business classes, and is available for other teaching opportunities related to Transportation, Logistics, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Forest Management, Natural Resources, and others.

Besides the pure teaching opportunities, membership in the club opens opportunities for students to learn about practical application of related coursework. Club work can also provide a broadening of educational experience as one subject quickly has impact on another.

In the past year, we have had the Day Care on campus bring down their students for their lesson on trains and transportation ( 3/18/06 & 4/20/06) and the Bursar's Office employees and their children for Bring your Child to Work Day (4/27/06.) Also in on May 30, 2005, the logistics classes came down as well.

For information on visiting the Club for any of these opportunities, e-mail PSMRRC.
