THON
Penn State Dance Marathon is the largest student run philanthropy in the world. Thon is a fundraising event benefiting the Four Diamonds Fund, Conquering Childhood Cancer at the Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey, PA. The fundraising year ends in February where students participate in a no-sitting, no-sleeping, 48 hour dance marathon. During THON weekend, 700 students spend 48 hours dancing for their organization, which each has their own child suffering from some form of pediatric cancer. These children and their families make their way to Penn State every THON weekend so support their dancers and participate in THON activities. This is where we come in; Saturday afternoon of THON weekend, we open up our doors to these families. We participate in the THON Wish List. The THON kids come down, look at our layout, ask questions, and run the trains. It's an amazing day and it's all - For The Kids.
