Welcome to the Penn State Gymnastics Club WebsiteAfter nearly two years of inactivity, this club was reestablished in early 2003 and has made an incredible comeback due to the efforts of the captains, the club sports office, and the varsity gymnastics coaches, as well our club members. The club is a great experience for anyone who joins, no matter what his/her goals are. Whether you're a level 1 or a level 10, male or female, freshman or senior, you're welcome in the Penn State Gymnastics Club where there's never a dull moment and always a good time. Our Members:The club is comprised of the following two teams. New members join a certain team depending on his/her skills and desire to compete or not. After joining, members have the choice of switching teams if his/her goals or time commitment changes. Blue Team -These members have many years of experience in gymnastics and compete as the Penn State Club Team against other University club teams. For info about the league we compete in, see the NAIGC website. White Team -These members have a very flexible practice schedule and they primarily do gymnastics for fun and exercise. They do not compete, although, some may move to Blue Team if they wish to. Requirements:Their are no minimum requirements to join either team. In order to compete on the blue team higher levels of skills are required. Practices:All of the club practices are optional except for occasional mandatory practices for announcements or preparation for meets (for the Blue Team). Our practices follow an 'open gym' style, although, we participate in an organized warm-up together. For info about location, dates, and times, see practices. Dues:All members submit a semester fee in order to join the club. This entitles them to a semester of free practices, help and spotting on any skills, and free trips with the Blue team to away meets. Also, free activities may be planned during the semester for all members. Please contact us for information on the current semester dues. Competitions:
Each member of the Blue team has the decision to compete in all of the scheduled meets, or only some. Also, each competitor has the choice of which event(s) he/she wants to compete. All-around is an option depending on the availability in the event lineups for our team.
