Hello, thank you for your visiting the new Accounting Club website. The Accounting Club is a diverse student organization that benefits the students of the School of Business Administration at PennState Harrisburg. Throughout the semester the club sponsors guest speakers, social events, accounting seminars, community service events, and field trips. The guest speakers are from both private industry and public accounting and generally speak about their organization as well as a specific topic of interest. Social events have included a pizza party at the Family Fun Center in Hummelstown and a inter-club picnic at a Harrisburg Senators baseball game in the Spring. Also in the Spring, the club volunteers in the audit room for the March of Dimes (MOD). Field trips have included a bus trip to NYC to visit the federal reserve and Bear Stearns. The Accounting Club is a great opportunity for business students to experience the world of accounting beyond the classroom. The club works with career services to host resume writing workshops and Nittany Lion Recruiting workshops to assist students searching for internships and entry level accounting positions. The club host an Alumni panel that gives students the opportunity to network with accountants, CPAs, and local business leaders and introduces them to the broad range of accounting careers. Most importantly, the club provides leadership opportunities and promotes a better understanding of the accounting profession. If you are interested in joining the Accounting Club please contact the club president, Kevin Chan, at kkc136@psu.edu. |
