What is a Safe Zone?
A Safe Zone is a visible place such as an office or a residence hall room that a person can feel comfortable talking about his or her own feelings, and sexual/gender orientation. The person providing such space does not need to understand every facet of sexual or gender orientation, but should feel comfortable about providing nonjudgmental information and discussion.
