What’s New at the L.V. Library by Dolores Hooper

A faculty author’s bookcase has been added to the Penn State Lehigh Valley library. Located just inside the main doors, this bookcase contains books that were written by members of the Penn State Lehigh Valley faculty.

The books have been donated by the author and signed on the title page. If you want to check out any of these books in the special case, just ask a librarian for assistance.

At present the collection includes the following: “Other Things Being Equal” by Emma Wolf; edited and with introduction by Dr. Barbara Cantalupo; “Tennis Sourcebook” and “Teaching, Coaching, Learning Tennis” by Dennis Phillips; “Voltage and Power Amplifiers” by Robert Sentz; “Fast Food, Fast Track” by Dr. Jennifer Parker Talwar.

The latest addition to the collection is “Elizabeth Hanford Dole: Speaking from the Heart” by Molly Meijer Wertheimer and Dr. Nichola Gutgold. Soon another book will be added to the collection, “Golfing Communities in the Southeast” by Dennis Phillips.

Keep an eye on this case for any books by your favorite faculty.

A proposal is being made before the administration for two soundproof group study rooms. A decision needs to be made on a final design and funding needs to be found.

There will be two separate rooms, each with its own access and a window. Up to eight people can use each room for private group study. Other purposes for the rooms will be at the discretion of the library.

Your Penn State picture ID is a vital part of your college life. As your library card, it is the only way you can check books out. The library will no longer allow students to take out books without their ID cards. Social security numbers can no longer be used to access your information.

If you already had an ID card from the fall semester, then come into the library to pick up your new card. If you need to have your picture taken, contact Kathy at the library to make an appointment.
