What is a Resident Assistant (RA)? Each floor in the residence halls and suites and each student apartment building has one resident assistant (RA) who serves as the primary resource and aide for the residents on that floor or in that building. RAs are carefully selected and trained in order that they may best fulfill the needs of the residents with whom they work with. RAs are trained in conflict mediation and resolution, crisis intervention, and creating a positive and healthy community. An RA is an excellent campus resource; go to your RA with any questions or concerns that you may have.
Want to be a RA, check out http://pennstatebehrend.psu.edu/student/living/residencelife-ra.htm Hopes of an RA By Josh Feinblum If you enter my room feeling lost My hope is to show you direction. If you enter my room full of tears My hope is that you will leave with a smile. If you enter my room feeling like a stranger My hope is that we will know each other when you leave. If you enter my room bothered by worry My hope is that you will leave feeling at ease. If you enter my room glowing with love My hope is to share in your warmth. If you enter my room bubbling with dreams My hope is to watch them develop for you. If you enter my room with a troubling problem My hope is that you can confide in me. If you enter my room My hope is that we will both grow stronger. |
