Welcome back!

The Matchbox Players are the loudest, biggest, and most notorious drama club on the Behrend campus. Our fame comes to us through an assortment of activities and events held each semester. We organize trips to local theaters, write and direct our own shows, put together the hugely successful improv nights, and constantly annoy the student government for more funding. The Matchbox Players are always looking for new people to join us on stage as well as those who would rather spectate. So, if you're a first timing freshman or a seasoned super senior, the Matchbox Players will make you feel right at home. Check us out by swinging by one of our events or watch some improv videos here on the website to get an idea of what we're all about.

When are the meetings?

Meetings will be held in Reed 114. E-board meetings are going to be held on Thursdays at 7:30 pm and general meetings will be held right after at 8:00 pm.

What's it take to be a member?

There are two types of members in the Matchbox Players, "associative" and "active." To be an "associative" member somewhere along the way--either at a show, a meeting, or a kegger--we need to write down your name. If the club's officers know your name, that's all it takes. To be considered an "active member" however, a person has to come to at least 50% percent of the club's meetings as well attend the majority of events we have during that semester. What's the difference between "associative" and "active" you ask? Active members can run for office and vote. That's it. If you want to get some more information feel free to contact us or read the club's constitution.

What's new with the webpage?

The goal of this website is to offer a one-stop location for all Matchbox related activity. The minutes for the club's meetings which were previously kept on ANGEL are now stored here. A compelation of Matchbox's appearance in advertisements and Penn State magazines are kept in our Matchbox in the media page. A history of the club as well as the list of master players are here as well as several other new features.

A lot of people helped.
