Lambda Sigma Society is a national honor society for second year men and women dedicated to the purpose of fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and the spirit of service among college students and to promoting the interests of the college or university in every possible way.
Lambda Sigma offers opportunities for personal growth, leadership experience, a sense of involvement on campus, and the friendship of other student members. Membership in this national honor society is recognition for accomplishment and is an honor to serve throughout one’s college career and as an alumnus. Members are challenged to fulfill their own intellectual and leadership potential, while serving their college / university and their community.
Inherent in the purposes and ideals of Lambda Sigma Society is the understanding of the importance of diversity within the organization in achieving its goals. To this end, the National Executive Board of Lambda Sigma Society encourages its member chapters to actively pursue candidates for membership who would broaden and strengthen the local chapters by providing diverse backgrounds. This diversity within the organization should serve to enhance the potential for leadership and service by acknowledging the wide range of students within the college or university and their potential to contribute to the goals of the society.
