September 19, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) The Fall Car Show will be held on Friday (9/28) in the Jordan Road parking lot from 5-8pm. Hopefully you've seen the flyers hanging around campus. Let's cross our fingers for some nice weather.
September 11, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) Thanks to everyone who came out to Club Rush. Looks like we have a lot of new people interested. The meeting time and place is still TBD so stay tuned.
May 3, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) Last night was the last meeting of the semester. The points winners recieved their prizes. Congrats to Tim D. for being the winner. Unfortunately the event at Lake Erie Speedway got cancelled due to lack of interest. However, this weekend there is an autox at the Speedway though. After the meeting, we cruised down to Bruster's on Peach Street for some ice cream. Have a great summer everyone, and watch your inbox for emails from Nathan/Logan for stuff that might be going on over the summer.
April 25, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) Tonight we discussed the great success of the autocross. This year we had 73 cars entered whereas last year we had 60. Thanks again to all who came out. We also had elections for who will be officers for next year. Nate and Logan will be President and VP for next year.
April 23, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) Thanks to all who came out to the car show and autocross. It was a great success! Here are some pictures for your viewing enjoyment.
April 18, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) This evening we discussed the upcoming car show and autocross. Those who ordered t-shirts recieved theirs and there are plenty of shirts available for purchase. If you want one let one of the officers know. They are $12 each. The color choices are royal blue with white lettering or grey with black lettering. At the autocross, food will be available, being catered by Dobbins. Please plan to get there early so we can get the event started. Remember...if you are not there in time to register, too bad.
April 15, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) Thanks to all who came out to the GT4 tournament yesterday. There were some close races but Ben Wigg eventually came out as the victor. Afterwards we hung out for a bit and then went on a cruise. Mike M. got to flex the muscles of his Grand National. A good time was had by all.
April 4, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) This evening we had an engine quiz made by Logan. He then discussed the GT4 tournament which is next weekend. It will be located in Kochel 69 which is downstairs in the Kochel building. Players will pull a track out of a hat and that track will have a car assigned to it. Some combinations will be realistic and some will be for fun. The club is getting t-shirts. They will be for sale for $10. The colors will be navy blue w/ white letters and possibly a grey with black letters. Also, the weekend of 4/20 - 4/22 is a big one for the auto club. The car show is on Friday and the Autocross is on Sunday, so mark your calendars! Flyers will soon be available to post for these events so keep your eyes/ears open.
March 22, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) Hope everyone had a great spring break. Due to complications there will be no GT4 tournament this weekend. It has been moved to Saturday, April 14. For the Autocross, food will be provided by Dobbins in the Picnic Grove. If you have any ideas for events for the day we are at Lake Erie Speedway, let any of the officers know.
March 7, 2007 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) This evening we discussed the GT4 tournament, which will be held the weekend after Spring Break. Logan also said that Lake Erie Speedway is interested in the club providing entertainment for a chili cook-off on May 12. We would have free rein of the track to do drifting, burnouts, etc. Stay posted for more info. He also said that there is a possibility of the club partnering with Lake Erie Speedway for another event in September.
February 12, 2006 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) During last week's meeting we discussed events for the spring semester. Specifically the spring car show and autocross. The date for the car show is Friday, April 20, and the autocross is the following Sunday, April 22. These are important events for the club so mark your calendars! Logan and Nate are also planning a trip to the "home of the huge hamburger" in NY. If you are interested please contact either Logan or Nate. Next meeting old club t-shirts will be on sale. These need to be sold in order to have new ones made.
January 31, 2006 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) During last week's meeting we had a quiz that Logan made up. Also, those who went to the Detroit Auto Show shared their pictures. Here are a few that I took while I was there.
December 13, 2006 By: Mike Horning (webmaster) This evening was the last meeting of the semester. Some unfortunate news...SGA did not give us funding for the Detroit trip. However we should be able to get some funding for the Cleveland auto show and the Cleveland bike show. If you ordered stickers and have not picked them up yet, please do so ASAP. Have a good Christmas break everybody!
November 29, 2006 By: Mike Horning (Webmaster) This evening we went over a lot. The GT4 tournament was set for next Saturday (12/9). Limit for custom cars is 500hp (no NO2) or 300hp (w/ NO2). If you ordered stickers they are available for pickup from Mike M. Logan also brought up the possiblilty of going to a good wing place in Buffalo, NY. Date is TBA, but possibly next Saturday. Contact Nathan for more details. The autocross for the spring was discussed. There will be a competition between Behrend students and Gannon students. Date is still TBA. Logan is working on that. Plans for T-shirts was finalized and they will be black with white lettering with a small design on the front and a larger design on the back. Price will be ~$7.00. The Detroit trip for the spring was also briefly discussed. It will probably be the second weekend we come back from Christmas break. There will be one more meeting before break.
November 8, 2006 By: Mike Horning (Webmaster) This evening at auto club, we looked at some more pictures from the scavenger hunt and had a quiz. Nathan also took orders for the auto club stickers. If you are interested please contact him. October 28, 2006 By: Mike Horning (Webmaster) This week during Auto Club, Nathan and Logan showed the picures from the scavenger hunt. There were some pretty funny ones. We also took a quiz. See you guys next meeting.
October 13 , 2006 By: Nathan Laird (President, Webmaster) This past Wednesday we had the Fall Scavenger Hunt. I hope everyone had a good time. Logan and I will go over the picture and give the groups their points. Next meeting we will show everyone the pictures and the points standings.
September 29 , 2006 By: Mike Horning (Webmaster) This evening was the Fall Car Show. There was a decent turnout of cars and plenty of pizza to go around.
September 27, 2006 By: Mike Horning (Webmaster) Tonight was the first quiz of the semester; a basic "Name that Car" quiz. Nathan and Logan went over what was going on for the car show and handed out flyers to be hung up ASAP. There was a cruise down to Peach Street afterwards. The car show is going to be held in the Jordan Road parking lot starting around 5:00pm. Pizza and soda will be served. There are also going to be prizes raffled off courtesy of Edelbrock. The weather is looking a bit iffy but hopefully there will be a good turnout.
September 20, 2006 By: Nathan Laird (President/Webmaster) It was great to see so many of the new members at the meeting and the cruise tonight. We will be having out next meeting on September 27th at 8:10pm at REDC 001. We normally don't have a meeting 2 weeks straight but next Friday is the Fall Car Show and I just want to talk about it and what will be going on. Also for next week we will be having our first quiz of the semester. If people want to we can go for a cruise again after the meeting. I have uploaded the flyer and you can see get it Here or on the Events page. This weekend we are either planning on going down to Mercer for Flashlight Drags or going to Thompson Drag Strip in Ohio. I will let everyone know what is decided on ASAP.
September 15, 2006 By: Nathan Laird (President/Webmaster) I am finally able to update this site. I will be going through and trying to organize the files on my end and if you see any dead links or things that don't look right let me know at a meeting or email me at: ntl5002@psu.edu and I will try and fix it as soon as possible. I am going to try and have this site updated after every meeting so incase you miss a meeting you will know what what happened. We are going to have our first meeting on Sept. 20 at 8:10pm in REDC 001. We will try this room out and see how everyone likes it. This meeting wil give the new members a chance to meet the senior members and see what we are all about. We will go for a cruise afterwards, probably down to Bruster's on Peach Street.
November 20, 2005 By: Eugene Ho (Treasure/Webmaster) It is now time for the GT 4 Tournament. Currently the rules are as stated. We are allowing tuned cars this year but they must be built to spec: Vehicles: We have a 500hp max limit without nitrous...we don't want to see the red bar. There is a 300hp max limit with nitrous. You can tune any car you want as long as we can see the HP in the garage. There is no limit to how many cars you can bring. If you do not choose to use a tuned car, you can use any car in arcade mode. There is an F1 ban for this race. Be aware that in arcade mode you can only use sports tires for tuned cars and that whether or not traction control is on or off can vary from game to game (stupid GT4 issue). Tracks: We will be using all the tracks in 2player arcade mode. All tracks will be only the normal way, ie no reverse tracks. The exception is rallies. Because there are only three rallies, rallies will be both normal and reverse. Tracks will be chosen before the race out of a hat...you do not choose your track to race on. All of the beginner tracks, such as Test Course and Beginner, will not be used...they are to boring to race on.
September 24, 2005 By: Eugene Ho (Treasure/Webmaster) I have added the member profile part to the members rides so please check that out. Also I wanted to remind everyone that our next meeting will be September 28 in Nick. We are planning on doing a scavenger hunt that day so make sure you show up. If you have a car bring it. Four people per car/team. Also the car show is October 7 starting at 5:00pm at the Wilson's Picnic Grove, so get the word out. The rain date is October 8th. |
