2006 SOBS Meeting Schedule

"About Us"

Main Objective: The objective of SOBS is to encourage and increase the amount of interaction between Penn State Altoona students, the community, student organizations, faculty, administration, and the college as a whole.

Specific Goals: SOBS specific goals and objectives include the following:

	To help students get more acquainted with their respective fields.
	To encourage students to become involved in the community.
	To increase students' interaction with business professionals.
	To increase students' awareness of what Penn State Altoona has to offer.
	AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, TO HAVE FUN!!!!
	Don't forget that student organizations are a great résumé builder.

1. Speakers

Come hear successful area business leaders speak (and possibly receive extra credit for your classes!)

2. Community Service

Blood Mobiles, On Campus Trick-or-Treat Night, and more.

3. Tour local businesses and warehouses

Wal-Mart, Sheetz, and other local companies that are just as interesting.

4. Fundraising

We plan on doing a lot of activities this year so be prepared for some fundraising.

5. Specially printed tee-shirts and sweatshirts

Some past tee-shirt designs have included The Top Ten Reasons Why Business is Better than Engineering.

6. Outings

Such as bowling, Altoona Curve games, etc.

7. Meet other business students.

8. One-on-one with business faculty.

9. Learn Leadership

10. Good résumé builder
