Lounge: 7 - 9pm.
This year's
theme is "Lets Talk About It!". We will be having an open mic night for
students or faculty to share their own coming out stories or to shared stories
about others coming out to them. There will be informational pamphlets and free
food.
Operation Safe Trick or Treat

The Gay-Straight
Alliance along with many other organizations will be passing out free candy to
trick-or-treaters.
We hope to see you

Karaoke Contests
I can sing and
dance. Can you?
Following Dates:

January 28th, February 25th, and March 24th
Slep TV Lounge,
8pm - 11pm.
It is free to come
and watch the event and it is only $3 to participate in the contest.
The Karaoke winner
will receive half of the money that is collected that night.

21st: Gender Bender Karaoke

Sing your heart out at Karaoke for free with the first place winner
taking home a prize!
Come dressed as the opposite sex to receive extra points.
Pride Week Raffle Card:
This
will also be the night to pick up your free Pride Week raffle card.
Come
to all the events from the 21st to the 24th and be entered to win a
big prize!

Come dressed to impress at the first annual
Altoona Movie Awards. We will be giving out awards to the best
student films on campus.
Interested? Submission Guidelines will be
located outside of 202 Slep!
Wednesday, April
23rd: Day of Silence
Day of Silence is officially on the 24th but the GSA
will be holding it a day early.
Show your support by grabbing some free buttons and
magnets.
Thursday, April
24th: Drag Bingo
See many student
leaders and volunteers dressed in Drag, calling out bingo numbers and passing
out cards.
Excellent prizes for
winners and the winner of the Pride Week raffle will be announced!
Friday, April
25th: The Gay? Fine By Me Campaign
Come get a free t-shirt that says "gay? fine by me." and wear it to
express your support for the LGBT community! This is part of the
National
Fine By Me Campaign, which has reached hundreds of
thousands of people at hundreds of college campuses across the
nation! Be sure to come early because we have a very limited
amount of shirts!
Funded by the Student Activities Fee.

P A S T Y
E A R S
Past years events have
included hosting LGBT rights speakers, film screenings, activist events such as
Fine By Me, Nat'l Coming Out Day, and Day of Silence, and fun things like Gender
Bender Karaoke, Drag Bingo, coffee houses featuring bands and/or an open mic,
and more.
Historically we have always been active on National Coming Out Day
(Oct. 11th) and World AIDS Day (Dec 1st) in the fall, and V-Day (February), Day of Silence
(April), and our
annual LGBT Pride week (3rd week of April) in the spring.
