Welcome new group to your Homepage This page is a primer to get you going quickly with your web development.
- First off, note that this page is called "default.htm". You will need to put any future homepages that you want others to reach as your directory's homepage in "default.htm". Other homepage names used on other servers like "index.html" will work here as well, but you must remove "default.htm" first. You may edit this page, or delete it and create your own. This page can be viewed from the web as either:
http://www.clubs.psu.edu/_your_groups_directory_/
OR
http://www.clubs.psu.edu/_your_groups_directory_/default.htmReplace "_your_groups_directory_" with the directory name for your group.
- To access your pages via FTP (File Transfer Protocal) run an FTP client and connect to ftp.clubs.psu.edu. Your username should be your PSU Access Account userid (eg xyz123), and your password is your KERBEROS password - the same one you use for @psu.edu email, eLion.psu.edu, ftp.personal.psu.edu, etc. Once you make the connection, you will need to change to the /clubs/ directory, and then to your organization's directory. Change (cd) to your clubs directory, and you should see default.htm. All files you put in this directory can be reached from your home directory on the web, and all directories you create here will be extentions from your home directory. Feel free to get creative!
- If you want to change your password, visit www.work.psu.edu.
- If you want your page added to the list of organizations, send us an email at ActivityServer@psu.edu

The Student Activity Server is a project initiated by Interface: The Student Computer Club. The object was to bring the World Wide Web to the Clubs and Organizations of Penn State University. Previously, club members had to acquire a personal account from The Center for Academic Computing. Due to security reasons, only one person could have access to the club's Web Pages. Now, with the Student Activity Server's help, your club or organization can have a Web Development Team!
If you are interested in helping administering the server, please send email to ActivityServer@psu.edu
Please direct any questions concerning the server and your webpages to ActivityServer@psu.edu. Please be sure to include any and all pertinent information such as your userid, directory name and a full description of the problem. We'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
